Description

The Paris Carnival is a popular event brining together local residents, street artists, visual artists and musicians. Last year's carnival included 15,000 participants and 40,000 spectators lined the parade route to enjoy the festivities.

This year despite the cold weather and possible snow, organizers are expecting much larger crowds. The theme of this years carnival is "Unlikely Couples" to coincide with Valentines Day celebrations.

The carnival procession will be as follows:

  1. Starting from Place Gambetta at 2:30pm
  2. Arrive in Belleville around 4:00pm
  3. Reaching Place de la République at 5.15pm
  4. Arriving at Hotel de Ville at 7:00pm and celebrating there until around 9:00pm

Sunday the 14th will be a day of fun parades in Paris as the Chinese New Year Dragon parade starts from Hotel de Ville on Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm.

Grab you hats, scarves and warm coats and let's try to shake off the winter blues with a fun filled day of festivals in Paris.
