The Beaujolais Nouveau may not be the best of French wines but it's definitely the most celebrated!  

The Beaujolais nouveau arrives in Paris every year on the third Thursday in November and there are celebrations, special menus and a very festive atmosphere in bars and cafes all over the city as they celebrate what has become a world wide event. 

Beaujolais is a red wine made from the Gamay grapes and is produced in the Beaujolais region of  southern Burgundy.

The 2009 Beaujolais Noveau is not forecast to be a very special wine but do not let that dampen your enthusiasm for this fun event.
