Description
The Tiffany family may be famous worldwide for
their stunning jewelry, but Louis Comfort Tiffany
(1848-1933) preferred working with glass.
Inspired by the jewelry created by his father, Charles Lewis Tiffany
(founder of Tiffany & Co. in New
York), Tiffany made his own colorful creations including blown
glass vases, stained glass windows and domed lamps.
Tiffany's innovations with color and light revolutionized glassmaking
in America and made him famous around the world.
The Tiffany
Color and Light exhibition contains 160 works of art, including stained
glass windows, lights, decorative objects, jewelry, drawings, paintings
and photographs.
This is the
first time since the 1900 Worlds Fair that Tiffany's work has been on
display in Paris.
